The Vicory '09 Team
The Victory 09 Team has a proven track record of holding down spending, controlling taxes, improving government services, protecting the environment, preserving open space, encouraging economic development, creating affordable housing and augmenting the quality of life that makes Huntington such a desirable community.
During the tenures of Frank Petrone as Supervisor and Mark Cuthbertson and Stuart Besen as Councilmen, Huntington has won awards for its fiscal management, protection of Long Island Sound and Huntington Bay and programs benefitting young people.
Petrone, Cuthbertson and Besen joined to implement major upgrades of Town parks, provide assistance to first-time home buyers, attract businesses to the Town and help existing ones expand. Their efforts have helped promote safety in our schools, keep seniors in their homes, bring recycling to our beaches, create construction jobs, preserve farmland, and foster energy programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on foreign oil.
Teamwork has been the hallmark of Town government, and many of these accomplishments could not have been realized without the type of cooperation that government needs to succeed. But each of them takes special pride in some programs for which they were the driving force. Here is a look at some accomplishments of which each is deservedly proud:
